What are the prerequisite courses?
- ENGL 1301 Composition I
- BIOL 2401 Anatomy and Physiology I
We recommend taking BIOL 2402 (Anatomy & Physiology II), but it is not a required prerequisite.
Do the prerequisite courses need to be complete before I apply to the OTA program?
It is recommended but not required. Prerequisites must be completed before the program begins.
Do the prerequisite courses have an expiration date?
No, there is no expiration date for prerequisite courses for the OTA program.
Do I need to complete an entrance exam or complete observation hours?
The OTA program does not require an entrance exam or observation hours. Students may be required to take the TSI assessment to enroll in Navarro College. The TSI assessment is designed to help Navarro College determine if a student is ready for college-level course work.
When does the next cohort begin?
A new cohort begins at the start of the summer I session.
What is the class schedule like?

The OTA program is a hybrid learning model. What does this mean?
Students complete 50% of the coursework online and 50% on campus. The model is designed to serve adult learners.
Is it mandatory that I attend an information session?
No, it is not mandatory for a potential student to attend an information session, but it is highly recommended. Information sessions are offered on campus and virtually via Zoom.
