Daniel Nesmith (1972)
Navarro College Professor Emeriti
Class of 1972 | Inducted 2023
Daniel Nesmith graduated from Dawson High School in 1970, and then from Navarro College in 1972, with an Associates in Science degree. While on NC’s campus, he was mentored and guided by wonderful people in all areas of the college. He attended University of Texas at Austin and then pursued his Teaching B.A. in Biology and History at Sam Houston State, a true hybrid, which he earned in 1974. Two years later, he earned a M.A. degree in History during the bicentennial year. Soon after, he was hired as an adjunct instructor of History at Navarro College and became full time after a semester. Along with his old friend and fellow student, Thomas Vance, he began a forty plus year career at the college. He is thankful to fellow employees for all the help and support they gave him over all of the years, as well as the tens of thousands of students who came through his classes, energizing him every day. He was bestowed the honor of Emeriti at Navarro College this year.
