(In fondest memory of Bonnie Langley, who passed away August 31, 1992)

An honor graduate from Sunset High School in Dallas where she was active in the school publications, interscholastic competitions in Latin and Speech, Bonnie Binford Langley attended Navarro Junior College from 1962-1963.

While attending Navarro, Langley served as editor of The Growl, as a student librarian and was active in the Press and Curtain Clubs.

Won awards in English, Journalism and Leadership at Navarro Junior College.

Binford was a journalist for the Corsicana Daily Sun for 16 years, serving for 3 years as editor or the Women’s Department.

She worked in the editorial, circulation and advertising departments of the Daily Times Herald, Dallas Dispatch and Journal in Dallas.

She held offices in the Navarro County Council and was former president of the National League of American Pen Women and won first prize in feature writing.

She received her degree from the University of Texas.

Was head of the journalism department for Corsicana High School, taught creative writing class at Presbyterian Village and Eastfield College.
